M-RETS adds new key executive team members: Teri Bylander-Pinke as COO and Bryan Gower as CCO

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Aug. 31, 2023 – M-RETS Inc., a nonprofit organization headquartered in Minneapolis that operates North America's most expansive environmental attribute tracking platform, is pleased to announce the appointment of two experienced professionals to its executive team. Teri Bylander-Pinke steps in as the chief operating officer (COO) and Bryan Gower assumes the role of chief customer officer (CCO). These critical appointments underline the company’s dedication to sustainable energy, operational excellence and commercial growth as M-RETS continues to expand its reach in the burgeoning renewable energy market.

"We couldn't be more delighted to welcome Teri and Bryan into their new leadership roles. Teri’s blend of legal and technical expertise coupled with Bryan's vast experience in environmental program management equips us exceedingly well for the upcoming growth we foresee in both the renewable energy and renewable thermal markets over the next two years,” said Benjamin Gerber, president and CEO of M-RETS.

Teri Bylander-Pinke brings more than 13 years of technology experience and has held various leadership roles within the Twin Cities community. She is a 2009 graduate of the Mitchell Hamline School of Law. Bylander-Pinke joined the M-RETS team in May 2022, initially serving as a scrum master with a focus on operational enhancements. Prior to joining M-RETS, she held the position of COO at a Minneapolis-based consulting firm and has served in other local leadership roles.

Bryan Gower comes with an 18-year track record in environmental program management and compliance. He holds a master’s degree in public administration and nonprofit management from California State University East Bay. Gower joined M-RETS in 2022 as a senior program and client services manager overseeing M-RETS products and client services team. His expertise encompasses renewable energy credit (REC) markets, green business certification, recycling programs and oil spill response. Gower began his journey in REC markets in 2007 and has since provided technical support or administrative services for nearly all major North American registries, including M-RETS, NEPOOL-GIS, WREGIS, NC-RETS, MIRECS, NAR and NYGATS.

In the past year, M-RETS became the software provider for the Western Renewable Energy Generation Information System and Ontario’s Independent Electricity System Operator clean energy credit program. Today, the M-RETS platform powers more compliance and voluntary markets than any other registry in North America. To accommodate this growth, the M-RETS team – combining energy policy experts and software developers – has grown substantially over the past two years. By the end of 2024, M-RETS expects to have doubled its workforce to support expansion of the tracking system and greater product support.
